The minus sign '-' appeared on the right side of the equations for y max, eq.(2)m (3) and (5) will disappear when we substitute g = - 9.81 m/s2.

A question on Projectile Motion

Planning a Hollywood stunt
To get the shot of a car flying through the air in movies,
it is necessary to drive the car off a cliff, and film it.
Suppose a stunt man drives a car off a 10-m high cliff at a speed of 20 m/s.
a) How long does the car takes to land on the ground?
b) How far does the car lands from the base of the cliff?

(use 9.8 m/s2)

Answer: a) 1.43 s   b) 29 m
